Romeo and Juliet

A tour in the Middle Ages on Romeo and Juliet’s footsteps, between legend and reality, movies and literature.

Verona, which provided the ideal setting for Shakespeare, is still the ideal set for filmmakers, the ideal place for weddings and love declarations. I propose you a romantic tour of the places described by Shakespeare, Dickens, Goethe and Ruskin, along the streets where  the Montagues and Capulets walked, between Juliet’s house and her tomb. We will pass through the medieval walls to reach the Franciscan monastery, where, according to legend, Romeo and Juliet secretly married, and Friar Lawrence collected medicinal herbs to prepare his infusions and mistical potions. We will sit in a painted room to admire the mythological figures representing the virtues in marriage. It is in this beautiful room that couples from all over the world take an oath of love and fidelity. And, of course, as in Shakespeare's tragedy, we will go down in the underground, to see Juliet's marble tomb, that has always attracted dreamers, poets and lovers...

We will discover the well of love and the secrets of Juliet’s Club. Our Juliet still receives fan mail from all over the world. We will see a huge, almost century-old archive of letters and gifts and get to know Juliet's secretaries. We will listen to the breath of the city and seize its magic.
