Canale, Tenno e Fiavè

It is a very scenic tour: in a few kilometers you pass from the Mediterranean vegetation of Riva to an alpine environment, going uphill among olive groves and vineyards overlooking Garda lake and the snowy peaks of the Brenta Dolomites.

For its beauty and biodiversity, richness in art and history, this area is worth a visit.  We will see a waterfall in a deep cave in Varone, and visit the fortified village of Frapporta built around Tenno Castle, with fountains and a washhouse. In Canale, the artists' village, you can admire the ancient Vittone’s  house and his paintings and enjoying the medieval atmosphere of  moon windows and vaults. A little farther Tenno Lake will surprise you with its Caribbean water. We make a jump into the Bronze Age and admire hundreds of objects found in a pile-dwelling settlement in the Unesco site Fiavé. Finally we will take a walk in a wood littered with nice artistic creations made with logs and pine cones. You can taste the traditional stranglepriests and salted meat with beans.
